G66: GFX + PXL
Graphic Art Applied
In addtion to the print designs, much of the Grafika66 art includes other applications. These can range from car liveries, to helmet wraps, to fashion attire.
Throughout this section can be found examples of a variety of illustration meets graphic design.
The various forms that the final art is applied to becomes part of the final work, and often dictates the design itself – customised to conform to the contours of each surface.

Unison
[ BMW M4 Car Livery ]
Year: 2024
Format: Car Livery
Collection: G66: GFX + PXL
This project showcases one of the custom car livery designs featured across the site, taking the core imagery from the piece ‘Unison’ and translating it onto a moving canvas.
To ensure the design translates naturally onto the complex curves of a physical vehicle, the original artwork was re-rendered into a two-colour, high-contrast variation. This simplification strips away unnecessary complexity, creating a punchy, bold graphic that retains its visual impact.
Applying artwork to a high-performance vehicle provides a great opportunity to experiment with the very concept of what a canvas can be. Rather than restricting art to traditional flat surfaces, this approach explores how graphics can interact with functional, three-dimensional forms out in the real world.
Every angle of the car presents a different framing challenge, requiring the independent graphic design elements and skull motifs to adapt fluidly to the vehicle’s natural lines. It reinforces a central philosophy behind the studio’s output: art isn’t just for hanging on a wall, it can exist dynamically across apparel, products, custom objects, and lifestyle design.

The Grafika66 catalogue of work is inspired by both a love of illustration and graphic design.
Since the creation of Grafika66 in 2005, numerous insignias, logos, and graphic elements have been incorporated into the art. In addition to their branding uses, these elements also often serve as additional graphic shapes, providing extra layers of complexity to a given piece.
Sometimes their original form is distorted or transformed to such an extent that it may be impossible to identify them in the final work. Other times, however, they are used in their traditional form. This is most often the case when applied to some of the helmet, skateboard, and product designs created, as seen in the various art in this collection.

As with the helmets and skateboards, the art for the car liveries need to work within the constraints of the vehicle’s pre-existing forms and surfaces, providing unique challenges that don’t exist with conventional canvases.
Elements of the pixel designs seen throughout the work are also present here. Pixel art is a recurring influence – the very nature of the low-resolution pixels forming graphic shapes lends itself well to the Grafika66 style.

Grenade
[88]
Year: 2024
Format: Print + Skateboard Deck
Collection: G66: GFX + PXL
The Grenade [88] series serves as a central showcase for the G66: GFX + PXL collection, leaning heavily into a graphic design layout built around an abstract, 3D-rendered skull.
This series brings together several classic Grafika66 design elements to create a cohesive, high-contrast aesthetic. Digital pixel graphics and block patterns are used to intentionally break apart the smooth lines of the 3D rendered skull, while raw graffiti tags, sharp stencils, and hand-styled signatures contrast directly with the clean typography. The entire composition is anchored by a strict, limited colour palette—committing entirely to a high-impact mix of black, white, grey, and vibrant crimson red—and layered with repeated tonal patterns and geometric blocks that add depth to the background.
By mixing these independent graphic components with the central illustrative skull, the collection highlights how digital artwork can cross over seamlessly into lifestyle design, skate culture, and street-ready apparel projects.
The collection is presented on the page across various mediums. The artwork shifts from a flat print design into a physical skate deck format. The skate deck layout visualises how the bold typography and structural blocks anchor the composition, wrapping around the curves of the board while retaining the original graphic design.
