G66: R/W/Blk
Adventures in Red + White + Black
R/W/Blk is an anthology of Grafika66 works unified by a singular palette: red, white, and black. Though each piece varies in composition and style, they are connected through this restricted colour language, creating a bold and unmistakable visual identity.
The collection highlights the versatility of a limited palette, shifting between minimal compositions, layered textures, and graphic forms, while maintaining a consistent energy and intensity across every work.

Every piece within the R/W/Blk series represents a distinct exploration of texture, balance, and form. Grafika66 utilizes the triad of red, white, and black to establish a stark, graphic aesthetic that relies entirely on contrast rather than a broad colour spectrum.
Through the use of bold lines, geometric structures, and distressed, multi-layered textures, the collection demonstrates how creative boundaries can expand when working within a highly restricted framework.
This body of work focuses on the quiet tension between minimalist space and raw visual intensity.

Submerged I + II

The artwork often results from playing with various graphic design trends and techniques, exploring ways to blend them with more illustrative art. The pieces in this collection represent a few of those results.
The set of three large canvases shown here, entitled Submerged II, incorporates the classic ‘X’ symbol — a motif that appears throughout much of the Grafika66 collection. This, along with the repeated pattern that follows the contours of the skulls, introduces graphic elements into what is primarily a 3D-rendered piece. The partial submersion of the skulls into a flat plane also provides an opportunity to experiment with positive and negative space.

Central to the R/W/Blk anthology are works that contrast traditional iconographies with contemporary graphic styling. This featured piece reinterprets classic memento mori motifs, pairing a high-gloss red skull and crossbones with intricate, baroque-inspired ornate destails.
A white halo and a rearing horse sit at the top, bringing a sense of vitality that cuts through the darker themes of the piece. Fitting these more complicated, overlapping details into just three strict colours injects the work with an energy while maintaining clear forms and preserving readability.
